Born and raised in Kigali, Rwanda, Shema Innocent knows hardship that is hard for westerners to imagine. He was surrounded by poverty, strife, six siblings, an evangelist mother, and a father striving to make ends meet for their growing family.
God miraculously provided for Shema to study in the United States. He earned his Associates in Arts at Bluegrass Community College. He is pursuing his Missional Leadership- Evangelism and Discipleship degree at Moody Bible Institute, where he hopes to one day travel across the globe, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“Moody is like a Military training base, with professors dedicated to equipping God’s people,” Shema says.
Shema also serves at Chicago’s Pacific Garden Mission, as an Evangelist.
