The Story of UniteUS

Tonya Prewett almost died. In her hospital bed she made a plea with God that if she was healed, she would do whatever He wanted. She was healed and followed her first assignment to mentor college students at Auburn University.

Those students formed a prayer group and decided in faith to host a large prayer meeting on campus. They had no idea what God would do. Tonya gathered leaders Jennie Allen (IF Gathering, Gather 25) and Jonathan Pokluda (Harris Creek Church, Waco, TX) and hosted the first UniteUS at Auburn’s Neville Arena in September 2023. Much to everyone’s amazement, 5,000 students showed up and 200 were spontaneously baptized in a nearby lake.

Since then, UniteUS has visited 16 other universities, mostly secular, large, state schools.

Prewett says of the movement on CBN, “I’m not capable of doing this, we’re not capable of doing this, it’s the hand of God. It’s way bigger than us.”

Each UniteUS gathering is funneled by prayer and coordinated by college students. Unique to this movement is a very intentional push to connect new believers to local churches. To nominate your school for a UniteUS rally, visit their website

The movement has reached more than 100,000 college students, with 13,000 decisions for Christ.
