Effie has lived on four different continents, so considers herself a global citizen. One of her favourite scriptures is Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” because it captures how God is the sovereign over all lands and people. She thinks you can feel at home anywhere in the world, knowing God’s presence is there.
She currently teaches French and Bible at a private Christian school in the Chicago area and enjoys how rewarding it is.
Effie is originally from Cyprus, grew up in South Africa, lived in France, and currently tries to make it through winters in Chicago. Her husband is American and they have three adult children. She has a Masters in French and a Masters in Theological Studies. She is currently a PhD student in Biblical Interpretation and Theology.
Effie is putting her degrees to good use at the private Christian school where she works and is thrilled to be part of training the next generation to be people who love and reflect God well. She’s also on teaching staff at her local church.
When Effie is not pouring over school work (her students’ or her own!), she loves to travel, hike, and cook.
