HOW TO MAXIMIZE GOOD SOUND AS A REMOTE GUEST

Thanks for being a guest on One80. We look forward to hearing your story and sharing it with our listeners! Here are some simple instructions for setting up. Make sure to star the email that came from our remote studio, Descript/One80, so you can access it at recording time.

Internet

The best is wired instead of Wifi. The best internet connection will be wiring your compter/laptop directly to your modem by ethernet cable. If that isn’t an option, Google “Internet Speed Test” or go here https://www.speedtest.net/ and run a speed test on your internet Wifi. Our remote studio needs at least 10 mbps upload and download in order for internet to not be spotty.

Location

If you can, it’s best to be in a room where there are textiles to absorb sound and not a lot of windows, which will cause an echo. But we just suggested you plug in to the ethernet. So decide what works for you! You can put a pillow on your lap or behind your laptop for more sound absorption. You also should pay attention to ambient noises you’ve never noticed before, like a fridge or fan. They will make a very loud hum in a recording’s final product! Turn off things that tend to make noise. You also want to make sure that the background is attractive, like not a door or distracting window; we are being recorded video and audio. Bookshelves are always a nice backdrop.

Before Christ: Did you have a previous faith background or misguided theology? What was your life like before you were walking with Jesus?

Turning Point: Was there a person or circumstance that started to lead you in the direction of Jesus? Did God get your attention in a personal way?

Coming to Jesus: What happened when you actually decided to follow Jesus? How did it happen? It is different for everyone. Was there a spiritual truth you now understood clearly? Some people have what we call a Reckoning. You accepted Christ, walked away and then came back, before the next step of After Deliverance. If that's you, just tell it like it was.

After Deliverance: What happened after you made this decision? What was a change you or others noticed? How is your AD life different than your BC life? How has your life taken a One80?
